Start with two facts. Is the registered legal owner the same person or entity, and will the ownership share stay the same? If both stay the same, identify whether the error concerns the owner or the property.
Not every title-deed change is an amendment. Correcting your own details is an amendment. Changing who owns a property is a registrable transfer — a sale, gift, inheritance, court-directed change or another route. It is not an amendment to owner details. The route is classified before you pay. Getting this right first avoids opening the wrong case.
Write down the field currently on the register and the change you are requesting. The same person renewing a passport, a discrepancy in an approved property plan, and a new person receiving a share lead to different procedures.
